Plot / Synopsis
Linda Vargas picks up Ortiz in a bar where she works in a lesbian show with Maria Toledano. She seduces him, phones the police and kills herself. Ortiz is held on suspicion of her murder. Ortiz's wife, Rosa, visits a friend of Linda's, the Countess Anna de Monterey who tells her how Linda went into a spiral of sex and drugs after being assaulted by Ortiz as a young girl at a fair-ground. Linda became the Countess's lover, then had a disastrous love affair with Alberto, the Countess' boyfriend. Rosa also meets Maria, who holds Linda's diary, where she relates how a fake Doctor turned her away from drugs and into a nymphomaniac.

The Smell Of Us - yes, there is plenty of sniffing of youthful flesh - is, of course, a provocative and challenging film, as Larry Clark presents his vision of French youth culture. The key central young character is Math (Lukas Ionesco), a sullen, blank but angelically good-looking youth who makes money as a rent boy, but also attracts the adoration of friends JP (Hugo Behar-Thinieres) and Marie (Diane Rouxel). JP, in love with Math, also sells himself to keep up with his friend, while Marie works her way into their friendship, but ultimately contrives to ***** them apart, leading to tragic results.

An "adults only" retelling of the legend of the Three Musketeers.

D'Artagnan is on his way to join the musketeers, only to discover out to his frustration that their lifetime is more a life of debauchery than one of epic actions. That is the concept underlying this movie, and as far as ideas for sex movies go it is a relatively good one. Sadly, this might be simply about the only 'fairly good' thing about this film.

The content had not been created beyond that initial idea and therefore neither d'Artagnan nor the film are truly going anywhere. To fill the moments lacking from function film duration, scenes from another film (most likely an unfinished one) have been edited into this movie and are offered to the viewers as stories informed by the musketeers.

On the goof part, the scenes showing the musketeers traveling through the forests not only fail to demonstrate the horses (except in long distance shots), certainly the digital camera angle enables the audience to spot the top of the appliance on which the saddles are installed - and it's neither alive nor moving.

It's additionally apparent that the cinematographers didn't use a dolly - in this films camera motion is constantly in angles, the camera never ever uses an action.
